• People Crying Hacker

5 times today i have killed someone and they said i was a hacker, just because they were completely unaware of their surroundings. The first guy was a guy in full kevlar with an M4. I killed him with a p250 by shooting him twice in the head, he of course immediately in all caps, "UNLUCKY FEAR IS AIMBOTTING IM GOING TO REPORT YOU TO THE FORUMS" I just moved on and thought it was really funny. Using his m4 and kevlar i killed 4 guys that were on the roof of a building wearing rad armor. They were raiding this guys base, and completely unaware I was there. I told the guy i would help him get his base back. 1 headshot and 1 body shot killed 1 of them, 2 headshots to the other. They came over the mic sounding at least 40 years old saying, "Silly script kiddies buying hacks with their moms credit card." I laughed really hard and naturally just told them they should get better at the game. they jumped down and chased me down. I waited them out in really good cover holding both the flanks. I saw one come right, him him 5-6 times and he died, other guy came left, 3 body shots 1 headshot. I missed too, its not even like i hit every shot. They told me they were going to report me to the forums, and that i would be vac banned. I wonder how many people this actually is going to happen to? False claims of hacking just because they are angry? This was ridiculous and quite funny, just thought i would share. Has anyone ever called you a hacker that you killed fairly?
This behaviour is as old as shit. I remember this childish bullshit in Counter-Strike when it was still loaded from the HL menu as a mod. This is never going to end. VAC doesn't work that way. This thread is unnecessary. Everyone move along.
I just kind of wanted to hear other peoples stories
As Elix said, this happens in pretty much all online games. Just comes with the territory. Take it with a grain of salt and move on. If the Rust developers, or whoever's in charge of handing out the bans, are really worth a crap then they'll need proof that you were legit hacking... and if what you say is true, that's not going to happen. I wouldn't worry about it much. Re: Stories On DayZ (one of the knock-offs like Epoch or something) I was running around in a BTR-90 HQ (the one with no weapons other than a PKT machine gun) and saw someone driving away from NWAF in a tractor of all things. Since I was bored I gunned it and rammed the back of his tractor at full-speed as he started slowing down (checking map maybe?) sending him flying forward a bit. Immediately switched to the machine gun and dumped an entire box into his tractor before he could react. This entire situation basically stems from - like you said - people not paying attention... And then I was promptly called a hacker, the kid accused me of teleporting the BTR-90 on top of him and insta-killing him with just one or two machine-gun shots (even though the box mag on the PKT holds like 100 rounds), he threatened to report me to the admins, etc.

The Rust developers do not give any "recommendations" or anything to Valve; Valve does not VAC ban based on reports. Reports may be used to raise the importantness of potential VAC detections registered in the system if a user has a large number of reports AND suspicious VAC activity at the same time, but the reports themselves are never a deciding factor.

I've never been VAC banned so I had no idea what they used to determine who needs to be banned. I assumed there had to be some automatic way of doing it in the case of detecting scripts, but I sort of (apparently erroneously?) assumed that there was a way to actually report people to Valve for hacking in addition to the automatic system.
If you get your hands on a private cheat/hack that you are pretty sure VAC does not detect, and you want to report it to Valve so they can detect it, they will likely want to see this undetected cheat. Obviously, I'm talking about if you ACTUALLY HAVE THE HACK, not just that you saw someone using it. If you are reporting someone for cheating, this will not cause them to be VAC banned. Again, as I said in the previous post, if a user has lots of reports and there are suspicious things being found by VAC on that user's system, this raises the relative importance of investigating them, since that's probably not a coincidence. But don't confuse correlation with causation, because VAC is the final arbiter on cheats, and VAC bans mean your system was cheating, not because enough people didn't like you.
Right. I was mostly referring to a way to report someone for hacking if you had proof, not just because they were being a douchebag to you/you didn't like their name. For example if you can prove they were using one of the undetected cheats you mentioned. As I said previously I've never been VAC banned so I had no idea what they actually did and did not do when it came to VAC bans.
I am getting called a hacker on a daily basis, and I don't even consider myself a very good shooter. People call me most commonly aimbotter, and speedhacker (I am using shadowplay, and I've provided proof of my gameplays to admins more than several times already :P) I usually don't mind doing this, although after the third time I was asked for the video, I got kinda annoyed and disappointed at the admins for not trusting me, but ah well, I see real hackers on a daily basis as well. By the way, can someone tell me if those 2 guys were hacking? Just wondering what you guys think. (I'm not gonna share my opinion :P) two actions from one guy: (if you are planning to watch, turn your volume down, so you don't get annoyed by my emotions in those videos :P) And this guy is even better XD. Not sure what to think on the first one. On the second one, if he seriously just killed you both while jumping through the air with a pistol.... definitely calling hax on that one.

Look at this one: (the audio is out of sync on this one, feel free to disable it) The complicate dude in my opinion was 100% aimbot (on button)
Okay yeah. Two people, while jumping, with just a couple shots with a pistol, dude's gotta be a hacker. And the answer is.....???
Okay yeah. Two people, while jumping, with just a couple shots with a pistol, dude's gotta be a hacker. And the answer is.....???
I am not sure what is your point here with the answer is.
I was asking whether or not he actually is/was a hacker.
You must be new to these type of games. But you already know the answer "because they are angry" so you get it. Everyone thinks they are the shit and noone can outplay them, so when they die its not because of their lack of skills.. it must be the other guy cheating. So they get upset and the insults start. Shooter type games its usually "f'n cheater" "Ima get you banned fo cheating" etc. and some comments about your mom. MMO's its more along the lines of "f'n nub.." "loser.." "Get outside from your mommies basement stupid nerd" and more comments about your mom..
Unfortunately, I have never gotten to the point of being in a reliable fight on this game. But, i have been called hacker in other games. It feels pretty good when im told im so good that its like im cheetin ;). I do wish people would chill out though. When I play i see lots of people going 'X DUDE IS A HACKER. FUCKING BAN HIM. SHOT HIM 13 TIMES WITH MY BOLT ACTION AND HE DIDNT DIE'. If/When i have my own server, i will require people to have twitch video proof someone hacked if they want to get them banned. Will also likely have a rule saying no bitching about cheaters. Then point to the video thing. Im sick of hearing it and i would likely ban people if they dont shut up on it.
