Mouse Input problem

I may be completely missing something right in front of me but i cannot for the life of me get the input settings to use my mouse as the horizontal and vertical axis.
Settings are Hz; Joystick 0 axis 0 and Vtc; Joystick 0 axis 1.

I dont have a joystick.. i dont have any game controllers installed and this is the first game i have played that has not defaulted axis control to mouse..

Can anyone help here? Thanks

Still nothing. i have tried editing the CFG file but i cannot find anyone anywhere with the same issue..
