This has got to me for a while ;)
Could you please 'glue' the nodes (rock/metal/etc) to the larger rocks a little? - They look a little odd stuck out in the open and would make a bit more sense if part of a larger 'rock'?
the intention (as far as i know) is to still apply them as a layer over the rock areas instead of having nodes.
