With so many people hacking this game and since neither Facepunch, VAC and admins can keep on top of them. Should we all just start hacking?
If everyone hacks, who has the advantage?
Today on a server i had a guy hit me bang on every time from 200m with an m4 while I was sprinting and weaving (By weaving i mean sprinting in 1 direction and using the mouse to make you move left and right, like a snake), between a supply drop, He wasn't spraying and praying, it was individual shots. I've never seen a single streamer or video of a player legitimately able to do this. You miss more then you'd hit in this above case.
Just fed up with the no recoil, aim botting, seeing through walls and crates crap.

Sorry but its true..
I got a little over 200 hours played in this game and me personally have seen 2-3 obvious hackers.
Then I've seen people get banned for cheating but yea, personally I've only seen 2-3...
Maybe find a decent server with active admins and you would have a better time playing this game.
Edit: Oh and yea, more than 50% of the people you claim are cheating are probably just better players than you are.
So where did you get your logic? Opposite day?

I know its dumb, but there is a point where its futile to fight against it. Urinating in the wind, you only get your legs wet.
Kinda the same thing here, you fight the hackers and they just keep coming. With each new patch there is more and more.
I just can't escape the feeling that this problem will never be resolved to an acceptable level.

it's rampant because everything is clientside, making it super easy to hack. this is so they can bug fix easier and make the game better in the end. The more people exploiting and being reported the more exploits are removed.
as soon as they change it to server side it'll shit on the numbers.

How about you play a different game that's actually [B]fun[/B] for a month instead? Rust won't be going anywhere. Gmod's been supported for 7+ years on Steam, and Facepunch Studios is not in dire financial straits and looking to stave off bankruptcy or anything. It'll be waiting when you come back.

Heh, its labelled as a rant. I'm just so annoyed at being killed by hackers. The OP was just the last straw for me. Pushed me to the point of just giving up for a few months.
I was farming some woods, and a guy shot me to death from a very far range using MP5. I typed "wew" in chat. And the guy who killed me replied "<my ign> is hacking!!!!" And I got banned from the server instantly. Went to menu, find and join other server. End of story.
Never thought about hacking, not even once. You must be really really dumb young man.
Just rise above it and hone them skillz, if you kill a hacker it feels like 10x more of an accomplishment and they get 10x more pissed off. Fuck hackers if they feel the need to waste money on outside programs that just means they can't play hardcore like everyone else.

It sucks but you can't just sink to their level or you become no better than they are. Piss on em dood they'll get what's coming. I disagree with a lot of things my government does and feel the same way sometimes, like wtf can I do I'm just one person. It all will work out in the end just have faith even if that very faith is blind as a bat.

mining, chopping, pretty sure no one near me or at least not that I aware of in that vast grass land, all the sudden someone pop behind me with a shotgun and... you know the ending.
climb to the top of a remote mountain, stand there, thinking how should I build the base; while I'm still thinking, someone shot me with M4... the F?! How the hell someone will know I'm at such remote location?!

Go play something else for a few weeks or a month, and then come back to Rust and see how it's doing.
No, seriously. Games are for having fun. If you're not having fun, play something else. Rust's still very much in alpha, and fairness and balance are things on the to-do list and not actual concepts that exist in-game already.
If we all follow this mentality we just end up with Combat Arms.
If you don't know what Combat Arms is, I envy you.
Just walk away. This is far from a finished game. Go play some TF2 or something else. Wait until you get the urge in a month or two and then try again. It will be a whole new game to discover and learn.

Your true aim just gets WORSE by hacking.
But you will get BETTER by just playing legit.
I don't hack if I find a server has hackers I move to another server.
I also don't KOS. I'll fight back when attacked. I passed many logged out bodies on the ground.
Would of been easy pickings but I wouldn't want that done to me. Besides that bodies on the ground are usually noobs.

Its about who enjoys the game more and who has more fun playing the game. I know this because I hacked on a game, yes I was one of the best but it wasn't as fun as becoming the best through training, so go right a head, hack and you'll get bored of the game soon enough.
While playing Rust legitly you can make a lot of friends and a lot of enemies, you will get into wars and loose your stuff but its part of the game. So keep playing and let Valve and FacePunch get the hackers in their own time.

All I remember from that game was Hacks every match and people whining when you picked up their Pay2Win gun. Seriously, everyone whined about you "using their gun", weirdest shit ever.

Before the game absolutely exploded and was limited to this forum, I do believe that there were hardly any cheaters/hackers in the game.
At least, I never really saw any.
Lol why dont you just leave a deep and meaningful message to the valve anti cheat team explaining how you think its ok to hack because others do be sure to leave your steamid

It only took them 2 months to add door codes and remove zombies.. I hardly can see it being a "Whole New Game". That actually made me laugh.

They're talking about Combat Arms, not Rust, there.
There were hackers in Rust; my first time playing Rust back in the bad old webplayer days culminated in me finally getting a pistol from a radtown, and then a speedhacker running up, clipping through me, and killing me from behind. But they were just using Cheat Engine, literally, and there weren't nearly as many as before the population spiked into the stratosphere.

Shared Doors
You can now set a passcode on a door and share it with other people.

whitetail, i know you have the best of intentions and I fully agree with you on the games progress, but that wall of patch notes made me pop a blood vessel, too much text :v:
If you do join a well administrated server, Hackers will be rare. I caught a couple headshotting a little too often to be legitimate, but apart from a couple of obvious aimbotters every now and then, the server I play on is mostly clean.
