• Every server lags. Help appreciated.

After the Feb 6 update I get rubberbanding on all servers. My character just bounces over and over and over. Running anywhere takes 3 times as long. I tested it with an unaffected friend. Mining resources is a pain. For every three successful hits I miss two other times. So far I have tried the following.... Total reinstall, including deleting files and restarting/shutting down in between delete and reinstall (roughly 4 times. Thank god I have unlimited data) Updating the .Net framework Attempted to update directx but it seems that is auto. Contacted ISP with tracert. They said its not a problem on their end. I even asked if rust is mistaken for a p2p network. Windows updates. Turning off all antivirus. Restarting the router in multiple ways. Pulling all cords, changing the modem to wall cord, hitting the reset button, everything. I am out of ideas. I'm literally going to try running the game in 16 bit color just to see what it does. So, as you can tell any ideas are appreciated, I will try them.
seems to me you don't know what you are doing. all the stuff you listed doesn't help to get your lagg away. Its probably your broadband speed. turn off those porn downloads! or. pay your ISP more money for faster internet. or. Move to a European country where there is fast internet. or Check the damn server list and pick a server near you, if you have crap speed that will atleast try and solve this by a little. I have 100Mbit down and 12Mbit up. I still rubberband like a motherfucker sometimes. Not all the time but at moments the server De-Syncs. If this is not your problem it could be your PC. Try to join a server that doesn't have a crap load of buildings. or lower your settings. Even I with a high end gaming rig have FPS drops as well. as it tries to load grid with over 100+ buildings every time I turn arround.

As you can see, I already contacted my ISP about it and this problem started directly after the patch. Before I never had lag.

your upload is higher then your download... what kind of retarded country do you live in? If you truelly have 5mb down then there is your problem. My phone internet is faster then yours.

You claim you still lag whereas before this patch I NEVER lagged. So, if you are willing to provide help other than move, please present it. Or fuck off.
I think you are not reading my post clear enough. on top of that insulting me wouldn't work that much either. as you can see that list was sarcastic. I'll give you an honest grown up tl;dr: You do not know what you are doing.

I'm not asking you to hold my hand just give ideas. Move to Europe is not a good idea. Its Europe.
Nothing wrong with Europe. as I said, Try lowering the settings or find a server nearby your place (lower ping). also less crowded server should do fine. If a server is getting quite a load of data it could make you lagg. LOTS OF BUILDINGS is bad. I have a couple of buddy's from america that suffer the same problem aswel. Told them to wait and sit out the problem till its fixed. but to my knowledge this is not a reported bug "yet". Try joining an empty server and play for like an hour on it if the problem is still there you should make a bug report.
At this point a steam refund will be quicker and easier. Less cunts too.

You could go play other games that are actually finished or close to being finished, and have fun. Seriously, go away from Rust for a month or so and play games you actually have fun in. Games are for entertainment and if you're getting mad it's not working so you should change to one that entertains you. Come back later and see how Rust is doing. Not even joking.

I had this happen as well, but it was only on some servers. So, it was not you but the link to the server.
Well, I was seeking help, but cunty McGee opened up with move to Europe. Make sure you're choosing a server that has a low ping, try to shoot for under ~60 if possible, the lower the better. It can sometimes be difficult to differentiate between FPS drops and net lag, just to make sure that it's not FPS drops set your graphics wayy down to see if it makes any difference. AV software shouldn't cause issues, if it did you would likely be unable to connect to any server at all, same with router settings. Are you on a wireless network? If you are, try using a wired connection from your router instead. Some PCs will come with software to lower energy consumption or turbo boost your cpu or w/e, make sure all of that stuff is disabled. There have been reports of those kinds of utilities affecting the game.
I have the same issue, as can be clearly illustrated in this quick and crappy vid I uploaded to youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utsix7EPrYY System Specs OS: Win 7 (64 bit) Graphics Card: Radeon HD 6950 RAM: 12 GB Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 840 (3.2 GHz)
