frankly i am on a server right now. where i suspect admin cheating or at the very least admins showing favortism to one set of players on the server.
this is really a bad problem. its not the first time i have seen this kind of behavior either.

i would like to ask that you restrict certain actions of the game. like spawning of items or calling in airdrops. i am not saying take out airdrops just take out the command that lets a admin call one. let them set the pop for the automated airdrop but not the location.
reasoning is simple right now people are just buying servers to cheat. to call airdrops right on top of them or there buddies.

Dude, just change server, they own the server they can do whatever they want with it. Its pretty much pay2win situation.
Once again, this is an issue with the admin and not an issue with the tools he is given.

p.s : I admire Honicon and Vulture ( of course you guys dont know them! they're Koreans ). They own a server, but they play on different server. Why? IDK.

The issue is that official servers are unplayable with the cheaters. The 'suggested course of action' seems to always be 'move on, look for another server' to both the hacker issue and the admin abuse issue; the problem is there are too many servers with modified settings or abusive admins and it takes time to tell an abusive admin server, hence so much time is wasted in searching for a good server to play on that it's just not worth it.
In the end of the day he/she is kinda paying for you to play. Without people renting servers you don't get to play.
So theres three things you can do.
Talk to the admin
Rent a server yourself
or Find a new server.

Catgut is from the U.S. I do believe U.S got plenty community servers, with good admins.
p.s : who play on official server anyway? Always lagging and filled with abandoned shit.
Unfortunately the only thing you can do is join another server. You will have admins who abuse their ability and those that take a more hand off approach and only dealing with griefers using pillars/ceilings to ruin bases and banning cheaters. The server I admin on, we made a few mistakes by reimbursing players when our world files corrupted and we gave out mats for players to rebuild quicker but the end result it caused major lag with large wood bases and we had to wipe anyway. But live and learn.

That's like saying, we know guns can be used to kill people, so shouldn't the government take them away from absolutely everyone because some percentage of people are going to be murderers with them.
Seriously, if you don't like how a server is run with the abilities provided to admins, leave that server and go elsewhere. Are you going to complain that they can ban you for killing them if they want, so we should remove the ability for server admins to kick and ban? :v:
i am saying theirs no overhead for the corrupt. a admin answers to no one just because he pays for a server.
the rules no longer apply to them because they have paid for the right to do what they want.
this is why most people hate a fps on private servers.

I'm currently paying $33/month for a 200 man server. Being an admin means I generally need to be accessible, friendly, and help people when they need it. During peak times I spend more time helping other players on my server than I do actually playing the game.
I chose to do it, but the job comes with perks.
I choose not to "cheat" and/or abuse my powers in any way that ruins other players' gaming experience, but I'm certainly not paying for the server and busting my ass to assist other players just to play the game like people who have not made the same investment.
I spend hours a day farming my own building mats, weapons and ammo, but if I'm in a crunch and need to slap a Metal Door on something, you can bet your ass I will spawn one.
Your problem is with bad admins, not with the admin commands/abilities.

I somewhat agree / disagree.
You are right there are lots of servers with admin's who spawn themselfs everything and run around banning and killing everyone. They do pay for the server so can do what they want fair enough.
I do though agree with you as most servers like that are run by kids with their mummy's credit card. The whole point of the game rust is to survive against others. It sort of completely ruins the game spawning stuff in where is the fun / effort needed to get that ? I am more satisfied collecting the stuff I need then using it.
I am trying to change it with my server and ive already had like 2 people complain they cant farm resources and then craft 10000000 C4 to run around blowing everything up allowing noone else to play.
Too many chiefs and not enough Indians is all I can say

Here's something to consider. I admin on a server that i saw on it first day up, i liked the settings and had a clan of about 15 at the time so i spoke to the owner about moving my people there. At the time the server had a low pop, intact when we were all online we were about 75% of the total population and as you can imagine this wasn't a lot of fun for us as there was no competition. After playing here for a few weeks and really keeping an eye on the admin to see if they abused or anything we came to the conclusion that this was a great place to play as the admin took an active role in the community, dint abuse, and spent more time admining and looking for way to make the server better than playing the game themselves. So i spoke to the owner about ways to increase the pop. He paved for the server to be put in its own box, have hardware upgrades done and provided a TS channel for the general pop and private channels for clans. I figured my clan could help too, we took on a defensive role, we built a big spiked off area in a high traffic area and only defended our base, this gave smaller groups a good target to aim for and we only attacked bandit groups who oppressed the little guys. And the server began to draw in people to help take us down.
We have been on this server now for about 4 months, and the owner has had to be away on work, before he did he passed the control panel details over the server to myself and another 2 guys and set us up as admins, but only gave us flags for kick/ban/invis kit and tp, that's all that's really needed to stay on top of hackers.
People who have played this server a long time know my clan, and its members quiet well and because this is a server i came to because of how fair it was run, we care a lot about upholding those ideas and we take it pretty serious, we need to be 100% certain someone is hacking before we ban them, and we have several ways of doing that, and will normally get a second admin to check the person out and confirm before we take action.
However, despite the pride and responsibility we take in looking after this server and keeping it fair, it dopest change the fact that when new players join, and see a huge base/community area, they become suspicious, and generally when they find out one of the admins lives there, the admin abuse card is played, when i explain i don't have the access to spawn items, im called a liar.
The point i am getting at is that no matter how fair you play, there are times when you will be called a hacker as a player or an abuser as an admin, and its near impossible to disprove. So before you get too invested in a server, speak with the players, admins and owners and find out what your getting yourself in to, no server is going to be perfect, but if you can find one worth sticking to, you'll have more confidence that your getting what you want out of a server and have a far better experience, you just have to do the research.
I found when i started admining that I would prefer to sit out of playing in my own map. I think I would prefer participating as an admin and wandering around, talking to people and organizing events etc. my map is still very quiet (only new) so waiting for more people to join in, but have been active with the small community of noobs that have settled there and been helpful, while not unbalancing the game, i.e. denying TP requests, spawn requests (it is a survival game after all). id be happy to remove a missplaced wall or something like that, but thats about it.
I'm also not providing kickbacks to friends that may play on the map - I want them to have a good time and not get bored by getting spawned items etc, it just unbalances the game too much. When my mates and i got into the map for the first time, we spent a bit of time mucking around with the admin settings then got down to the task of harvesting to build a house, 5 guys and 4 hours later a large fortress was built legit without any spawning. (easy when no ones else around to raid or attack you)
I decided then to move out and build my own little shack so it couldn't be misconstrued that the house was spawn built. I expect that when people cotton on to the fact that the house was built by guys friends with the admin there will be accusations of abuse etc.
I cant see how admins can have fun donning armor then going raiding when they can spawn anything they want. I guess thats what happens when 13 year olds get their own server to admin. I've also decided to not grant anyone else admin to keep management simple and the server balanced
I'm sure when my server picks up you will get people that will always be butthurt and play the abuse card, I dont think you could ever avoid that.
I guess if you get known as a bad admin people will stop coming to you server, the last thing any admin wants.
