• When will a new way of getting blueprints be implemented?

Meaning another way if not completely removing barrels, I know they are only temprorary, but it's honestly one of the biggest thing's keeping me from playing Rust right now. A lot of servers blueprint wipe rarely, so when you join them, people have all the guns and armor etc already researched, and I don't even have a code lock blueprint. I know barrels are only temp, and will be changed, and I also am aware their is a research table, but you first have to kill a really geared up guy to get one, which isn't too difficult, but the research table then takes a pretty hefty amount of resources, and I've failed like 6 times in a row, and I play solo, so them resources which could have gone on a base upgrade are now wasted, then the success rate keeps going down, and then more resources to repair the thing. I believe that the research table is also going to receive some modifications also, just not sure if any more news on it? This isn't a 'Make the game easier. it's too hard *cry cry* thread', But right now it feels really uneven, not difficult, but uneven because of these certain things, and I'm simply posting to receive some more information if anyone has got any updates or know of any future changes :) Thanks :)
all you do is place a sleeping bag next to each Rad town, and just keep spawning at each bag and loot all the crates and barrels till you get all the blueprints. its pretty simple

There are ways around the grind.

I'm sure the devs would agree that the barrel placeholder system has been in game for too long already. I remember seeing concept art for things like junk piles and scrap collections that players would loot, but all that really does is make barrels look different. I agree we need another system for gearing up/teching. Theoretically you can by researching stuff you scavenge, however as a solo player myself I know how unlikely that is to happen. I know these words are heresy here, but I the one thing about Minecraft that I thought was really good was the crafting system. Instead of deciding to make a shovel by having the mats and clicking 'shovel', you have to arrange the wood and stone into the proper shape. Something like that in Rust where you can just throw crap together and see what you get would really fit the theme in my opinion.
