• When they go to get right ddos attacks?

I think it's attempting to communicate with us. Jokes aside, I didn't understand what you were trying to say, please clarify it.
I think he's saying as a consumer, he is disappointed with this product and is leaving and maybe he'll call up his card holder and tell them he didn't authorize the transaction and get his money back.
Translation : He got his server ddosed for 3 days and had zero support / solution from his GSP. Only a few rust GSP offer ddos protection.
THE CONSUMER ARE DISGUTING (HASTA LA POLLA) OF WAITING THE OFICIAL SERVER, ANYBODY WANT LEAVE THE GAME? I YES.
I think he's saying that the servers have been DDOS'd and rendered useless for the 3rd day in a row and no one's doing shit to fix it.
Not only that, but now I can't even connect IF they do fix this problem apparently (Researched this other problem also). Now it's saying YouAreAlreadyConnectedToAnotherServer and I'm pretty sure this error spawned due to some screwed up lag just from their bad servers being ddos'd during the last time I was able to get in. And I've read it's another problem that is totally random and effects 1 in 3 players and doesn't have a fix and takes anywhere from 1day to a week to be fixed (they have to restart the server apparently and I guess only do it every so often). They should have the resources to fix these problems. Servers shouldn't be ddosable by one person. And if they were, they could fix it by simply blocking the port and setting the port to something else or blocking their ip/dns or blocking proxies. Or get better/bigger servers and move the data to those.

Or multiple connections. Using botnets to do it still might show the source. I sense you are a script kiddie.

I doubt that the servers are being DDoS in any way, it's just people being hyperbolic, as usual.

I sense you are a script kiddie.
Even if LordCrypto was a script kiddie, he still knows what he's talking about, something you can't convince us of after what you've posted here. The problem with a DDoS is that the only way to firmly stop it is to shut down whatever's being attacked. And that's the point of the attack in the first place, so they win. [editline]19th May 2014[/editline] I heard the DDoSer is using the Internet's fibre lines against it. They've been corrupted into evil dark fiber. Now they only DoS sites.

They certainly are weak if they can be ddos'd by one person and my laptop can't be. They have to plan these things and have good servers for this stuff.
They certainly are weak if they can be ddos'd by one person and my laptop can't be.
You really don't understand how DDoS'ing works.

You don't even understand how these attacks work and why it's so hard to defend against them. Please actually shut up. You're just making yourself look like a bigger fool with every new post.
He could have a super computer, or multiple computers. Or multiple connections. Using botnets to do it still might show the source. I sense you are a script kiddie.
Spit mountain dew all over my screen. Thanks for that.
Also, why are you on the forum trolling if everything works fine for you on your private server with 2 people on it (both hackers). The forums are a place of talking about problems of the game. 5600 posts on a single game forum, nn to say anything else.

Please just stop digging yourself into this pit of stupidity. You (very clearly) do not know what you're talking about, spare yourself (and us) and do some research before posting about DoS attacks of any kind. DDoS protection is very very expensive and quite honestly doesn't always work that well. Especially nowadays with how accessible everything is. Why would the devs spend so much money for DDoS protection on a server that's already filled with cheaters and runs like crap most of the time? Talk about a waste of money.

Nuff said lulz.
Do you realize that Facepunch is much larger than the Rust forums? It's been running for ten years and has 26 million posts on it. This little hole of idiots like you is a small, smelly corner of it.
guys this guy is such a le funny troll xddd

I'm not going to do a thing, but let's even see.

I'm not sure that the 'You are already connected to another server' issue has anything to do with a DDOS attack. I had this happen while playing on UK1 (when it existed) and basically had to give up on that server. The issue never got fixed as I understand it requires an admin to manually 'kick' the affected account, so that the user can log back in. I don't think the official servers have active admins, so I'm sorry to say (to the poster above) that your account is FUBAR and you'd be better off starting afresh on another server.

Nuff said lulz.
This is entirely ass-backwards. It's way too easy to DDoS someone, all you need is a few bucks to spend on dummy machines. I don't know what being a gold member has to do with anything, but clearly you're running out of things to argue about since you're wrong on just about every front so.... Have fun in RC.
Don't flame me. You don't want to lose your 5600 post account nerd.
oldmembers basically have immunity in this section unless they get really over the top :) also we don't have your ip although i could find someone with loic and ask a mod for your ip bet you'd be bitching about your internet connection then [editline]19th May 2014[/editline] ok since you're a massive idiot i'll explain how DDoS attacks work these days a swarm of computers all send requests to view the last 600 IPs connected to a NTP server, with the bounceback address set to your target IP this amplifies the attackers connection by about 200. meaning that if they send a Gbps of packets to NTP servers, they'll get 200 Gbps of packets hitting the target you can't just block it because you've already maxed out your bandwidth on your internet connection
The only way to 100% defend a server from DDoS attacks is to disconnnect it from the Internet. It's like trying to use your phone when it's being prank called by 400 million people at the same time.

Nuff said lulz.
I supose he think that when someone ddos a server he just go on cmd and start pinging the server :suicide: Anyhow, ddos protection is extremely expensive. Especially if you are getting for your own dedicated server. There are literally dozens of ddos types and its harder to defend than you might think. Expecting a GSPS to get a full ddos protection for EACH server is kinda too much. I dont blame then since they are fairly new and they improved quite a LOT actually ( much more than i expected nice work ). PS: You cant price a ddos protection if you dont have any idea how large the attacks are and the type of ddos you are facing. Most common type of ddos protection is the mitigation one and that is indeed expensive. PS: Dont confuse protecting a website with ddos protection to protecting a game server or a dedicated server. It's a totally diff story. PS: You clrealy dont know how ddos works and how ddos protection works : http://www.blacklotus.net/learn/levels-of-protection Have a nice reading.

Probably because they do restart them every x days. Other than that, I don't see a reason to invest more time in the game if they essentially have a bug that bans random players that they won't fix. If I can't connect to that server (100+ hours, 50 rooms+, 10 person town) then I'm going to call my bank and tell them it's not an authorized transaction. My time and money has been wasted and I don't feel good about supporting a company like that. At least then, my money wouldn't be wasted and I'd get it back. You must remember you have power in this too and not get bullied by their troll accounts on the forum or thinking that there's nothing you can do about it.
