Hey guys, so I'm playing on a modded server where I'm one of the admins (just to put that in here). I'm not very "technical" myself but feel free to post any types of solutions I'll ask someone for help :D
My first problem is not being able to build anymore. I can place one foundation but walls or another foundation are red and cannot be placed since yesterday night. If I scroll, to say, a hatchet and return it back to building plan, it works for a split second not even enough to click.. I restarted the server, reinstalled the game and nothing of this helps.. And its only me who has this problem.. Went to another server to try it and it worked completely fine.. I'm a bit confused now and can't find a solution?
The second problem is when the chat just goes blank and you can't type or read anymore,players need to restart their game every 15-20 mins or less if they've been talking much.. I don't have this problem myself but other admins do and players do as well.. The third problem is only with one player whose game keeps crashing literally every 5 mins showing no errors and his pc is good enough to run it properly with no problems (for those of you who might start saying to go and buy a new pc - please don't). Anyone knows how to fix or is there anything I could do?
Try destroying things on your server and see if you can build after they've been destroyed. If so, and nobody can build until you destroy something, you're at the collider limit. It turns out there's an undocumented PhysX collider limit (Rust uses Unity, and Unity incorporates Nvidia's PhysX for a physics engine), and Rust is currently topping out around 150k collider objects. When at the limit, nothing can be built.
I don't know what's with the chat but others have reported chat problems. As for the crashing guy, he should come here for tech support himself, rather than us talking through you to get his system specs and etc.
This is a glitch that needs to be fixed. I am on Seattle server and we've been having the same thing. We can place foundations, boxes, lots of things but can not place walls or pillars. The pillars and walls explode after about 3 seconds.
I just tried removing houses and deleted some big ones but it didn't change (the building problem) and for other things, if others have reported it too then I guess its not on my side and I can't do anything.. Thanks for the reply tho :D If you think of anything else for building problem pls let me know :D
