Now that incendiary and fire mechanics are here, can we hope for the Flare Gun?

I was browsing through old concept arts and I found this. I love the idea of this especially with the harsh nights. It has so many potential uses like signalling the beginning to raids, temporarily lighting up areas you cant see at night (raiders hiding behind rocks), and generally just blasting it at people close range and lighting them on fire.
Considering how incendiary ammo's are already a thing now, it seems like the right time to implement this.

Maybe not a flare gun, but what about bases burning to the ground if there is wood and low grade fuel stored, or being used?
I find it hilarious that there are kill-notches in that flare gun concept-art.
I do agree with this concept - flare guns will be a really nice addition, especially when out on patrol. Voice-chat kind-of ruins the immersion in that sort of scenario, but it will still be nice for RP'ing.
I also imagine it would be amazing to have this thing in a contested area, but shooting it into the air near an enemy's base, and watch everyone convene on the area trying to discover the source.
I love this idea. Totally forgot about the concept art. You could have too different ammo types.
- One that shoots bright red lights into the sky but they burn out fast and don't glide.
- And one slowly gliding bright white light that needs something like magnesium which could probably be optained with quarries?! (used to light up more-or-less big areas on the ground at night)
And why not smoke signals by putting something in the campfire?
Some flare guns in real life can even use 12 gauge shotgun ammo. I like dis.
Flare ammo useable by the eoka pistol would do the job.
Molotow Cocktails anyone??
i mean we need a crowdcontrol grenade which fits rust + we got a huge amount of Low grade fuel.

Or at least Waterpipe Shotgun because it would match on a visual level. (The cartridge)
