Hello, when I play rust and exit the game, I can't open any other programs like google chrome or anything.
When I go to Task Manager the programs I open are still listed there as Proccesses even the new ones, but theyre not on the Applications list and they won't open.
If I spam click on google chrome to open there are 30 chrome.exe processes but it's nowhere to be seen in my screen, same goes for every other program.
Also whenever I try to log off or switch user on Windows it will be stuck on "Logging off" for unknown time, I've left my pc for about ~8 hours and it was still "logging off".
The only way for me to fix this is by pressing my computer turn off button for about 8 seconds so everything shut downs, and when I play rust and exit, all this happens again untill I turn it off with the turn off button.
I also tried closing rust via task manager, still get these problems.
Can anyone please help me with this?
If this helps any:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.40 GHz
RAM: 6,00 GB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520
( I run Rust on lowest possible graphics )
Same here.
- i5-3570k
- AMD Radeon r9 280x
- 8GB DDR3 1600
Tried everything from lowest to best. Also used DX9 Mode and the same happens.
I usually just press the power off button after playing because there's nothing else I can do.
Tried reinstalling, dx9, dx11, almost all resolutions, windowed and fullscreen.
Nothing helps :-(
bump
I'm using an R9 280. Not sure if that's relevant, but I experienced the same issues about a week ago, and as a result, stopped playing :(
yea it's incredibly annoying
Disable steam overlay. I noticed that it keeps running and the prcess cannot be killed. Once I disabled it the problems went away.
Quick update:
Before that last patch disabling the overlay worked for me. Now I have the same issue again with the overlay disabled.
Just Alt + F4 to quit the game.
I think it happens because the game uses a lot of RAMs.
Because whenever I play, my 4 Gbs get taken away really quickly, although it loads like normal.
Later after closing it makes my PC unresponsive and I have to force a restart to actually do anything with it.
Basically, check in Task Manager if Rust is taking a huge amount of RAMs.
