• Rust consuming a lot of memory ram

to start the game, the game does not load up the menu, and was loaded when it comes into a server it comes out, there I was watching the RAM consumption and the rust gets to use all that has free on pc Setup i5 2310 CPU - 3.2GHz 6MB cache Ram 6GB gtx 650 gpu hd 1,5TB
6GB is not a lot. Ram is cheap, go get some more.
6GB is more than enough for almost everyone.
6GB is more than enough for almost everyone.
Rust uses 3GB on minimum settings. Your OS needs another 2GB. Leaving only 1GB for in memory swaps is probably cutting it close. Idling in Rust on Windows 10, with a browser and teamspeak open, I am using 8GB of RAM.
The minimum specs for Rust are 4GB, but realistically to not have problems right now you need 8GB. This is very well-understood by the devs, and it's something that happens in alpha. Performance will get better over time.
6GB is more than enough for almost everyone.
haven't really seen 6gb setups. most people are using 8gb and doing fine, 4gb leaving people with out of memory issues. *edit* so diogo, care to explain why you feel that 4gb is enough when there are literally dozens of "out of memory" threads by people with 4gb of ram? y'know, maybe contribute to the thread?;)

So, buy 16GB of RAM if you want to play Rust right now LOL, or wait some months until they fix this. P.S: I'm not the only one in this situation, the difference is that the people with this kind of problems doesn't come here.
8GB is becoming the minimum nowadays.
I have 2GB of RAM so and can barely play this game._.

Rust has at least one memory leak. I would put money on it.

I don't know if this is the same or not but since I saw ram thought I'd make this reply too. My server Win Everyday @ Rust - client.connect Rust.WeWinEveryday.com:28015 It's a new server so procgen9 generated a new map I think it was due to that why the ram spiked so hard.
8GB is becoming the minimum nowadays.
Yes and no. If you've ever done tech support, you'd know the majority of the public are still running 32bit OSs. Tech savvy people know 64bit and 8GB is probably best, however single CPU thread/32bit games (which are the majority still as well) wouldn't make use of it. I mean, you could watch a movie, play music and still play a game simultaneously, but it does only select good. Also, running 32bit games under 64bit means the computer uses emulation/overhead in CPU and memory usage.
