• Why did they nerf armored doors?

It makes it more tedious on home dwellers having to go through so many doors just to be safe... if you want a cheaper door that takes 2 c4 charges to break, buff the sheet metal door.
They wanted to encourage breaching doors instead of everyone going through any and every wall. I don't agree with it personally, but that was the reason.
They should've left the armored doors at 1000HP and included something like a battering ram that you could use to take down doors. An expensive item that takes a lot of time, but you could force the door open instead of just blowing it up.
Yeah a pretty bad change imo....i personally dont even bother making armored walls anymore because the doors cost just as much as stone walls so whats the point
At least the doors are cheap to make.

Clicking it will show his ban history, he was banned for predicting moderator action (as in he told someone they're about to be banned before the mod could get to it) therefore earning himself a 12 hour ban. It's not a big deal.
It's one of the best and most important changes this game got. I wish they would have increased wall strength instead but by nerfing rocks the week after or so, they essentially pretty much did that. This allows you as a builder to build in a way where you can almost assume most raiders will use doors since they're cheaper to breach. It also forces raiders to think and plan their raid a little better, having to make a choice between walls and doors. Each time they choose to go through a wall, they lose more C4 and further up in the raid, it can make the difference between getting to the loot room or not. C4 having a very limited blast radius now also means you don't wake up in the morning with your base completely destroyed. Now of course there are still rockets which are still way too cheap for what they do.. but that's another debate.
With doors in their current state, there's no much point in completely armouring a base any more. Properly oriented stone walls are still reasonably safe from took raiding, so they're good enough since they have the same amount of HP and require 2 charges, just like armoured doors. Raiders will blow doors with C4 since they're now the path of lease resistance. That said, C4 is almost useless in its current state. Rockets are far more effective since they still have a giant blast radius and do tons of splash damage and the cost to breach a building is considerably lower using rockets. You can use rockets to take out a door and if there's another door within 1 block, it will almost be destroyed by the time the first door is breached, making it weak and easy / cheap to get into. Unless they do the same to rockets and nerf its splash damage, there's currently really little point in using C4 except in certain more surgical strike situations when you suspect you're blowing into a loot room and don't want to blow the contents up.

My base right now looks just like legacy. Doorways on every single tile. Borrrrrrrring.
Right, because rockets don't do that. Oh...
Read between the lines. I'm fine with rockets having a blast radius (and fine with C4 NOT having one - I consider them to be breaching charges not just a random plastic explosive brick). The issue I have is that right now a rocket does half the damage of a c4 and also costs half (give or take) but the rocket has the advantage of being ranged AND making significantly more overall damage because of the blast. Even when they had a similar blast radius, rockets were OP compared to C4 because of it.. Now that C4 has been nerfed, that price offset is MUCH worse. They should just increase rocket costs so that the rocket vs c4 choice is a tactical one... Do I want to cause a lot of damage and pay extra? Or do I want a chirurgical tool for cheaper? This way rockets aren't denaturalized, but they become an expensive item that you keep for specific occasions rather than "big clans wanting to grief"'s bread and butter.

I just think fun / logical gameplay should always trump realism.
I've watched a few raids and most of the time the people don't bother with wall or doors, they go for the pillars so all of the walls above break.
Agree with basically everything you said. I just think fun / logical gameplay should always trump realism.
Agreed but this isn't about realism it's about balance. It's no fun waking up to a base that's totally zapped because rockets are cheaper than c4. If c4 was cheaper, the only time a group would totally zap a base would be when they really wanted to do it badly and actually spent extra resources to get to that point.
