Currently the WOUNDED system has no meaning. Players (attacking or defending) can simply bypass all the process of waiting for help and just F1 + kill.
So if they are attacking, they will just place a box somewhere and place a ton of sleepingbags nearby and BANG: Limitless attack with no need to use the brain or any strategy.
Same happens to defense. Both sides will simply spam bullets without any care about themselves since they can "F1+KILL" if wounded and keep attacking/defending.
I think it would be much more natural to have "kill" (and "F1+Respawn" also) unabled when wounded. That would not only force the use of a more thought attack / defense, but also creates more dynamic.
Presently, if your comrade falls wounded you simply don't care, as he/she would "f1+kill" and respawn nearby to loot his own body and keep the attack. Same happens to defense.
By making it impossible to "f1+kill" when wounded, the disabled person would have to wait for the whole process of wound/cure until he/she recovers, dies or someone helps.
Therefore, people would have to worry about their comrades, running to help/heal them, creating a more immersive experience with more realism. And making the whole game more "survival".
I like this idea... It can be modded btw.
Garry mentioned a while back that he wanted to eventually add in death penalties. I doubt he's going to remove the kill command completely, but I'm sure there will be a system in place in the near future to penalize killing yourself repeatedly.
But then it means that headshoting people is just not worth it compared to wounding them... Something should be done for dead players too like 30 secs delay before sleeping bag respawn.

hopefully this happens after alot of glictches where you get stuck is fixed.
I like the idea of a timer, however I dont believe the kill option should be completely removed as I once was in a bug where I was perpetually wounded. Even re-logging I was still on the ground, so I had to kill myself after 10 minutes or so. So maybe a timer like jiggy mentioned would be the best route.

You're absolutely correct. I believe that we need to balance the respawn time, and also check the circumstances.
How would I implement such a solution:
a) Death by hunger, fall or animal (not player/enemy caused), should have an insta-respawn. There is no meaning in waiting;
b) Death caused by players should have "X" time for wound recover and "1.5 X" or even "2 x" (I think 2 x is better) time for kills. That would cause the comrades to run to try to recover the fallen wounded adding more realism to the whole combat situation.
Therefore we would see some real combat techniques, like suppressive fire while someone goes to help the fallen etc.
As for Bugs, I implemented a limit of 1 kill command per each 15 minutes (in my oxide server). This could be balanced. But, as long you create a timer for "not natural" deaths, the whole problem is solved. You can still use "f1+kill" to get unstuck in a rock (each X minutes) and you wont abuse it while in combat.
I would like to see some kinda of a death timer. As you die, you cannot respawn before ~2min. Atm death in rust is a joke.
Why can't we just force a timer on ALL sleeping bags, not just the last one used?

That creates a different balance problem. It can already be quite difficult to get off a spawn beach if someone is camping it, a death timer risks putting off new players.

I liked the way legacy dealt with the problem, a timer on all bags within a 100m radius.

I'm wondering why they haven't put this back yet.

Probably because they haven't added beds yet, and the priority to do so is lower than the other changes in the long term. If they changed sleeping bags now people would riot
