I've seen many mentioned in posts but I would like to hear someone's personal experience good or bad. I haven't hosted since legacy so I'm a bit out of date.

Well it would depend as I'm a price vs performance guy. I would prefer quality if I had to choose.

Give OVH a go. Prompt support and reasonable prices. They were always very helpful, and allowed me to upgrade the specs on my VPS within the hour.
Prompt support really is key, as 2 other providers I tried before them hadn't even provided the VPS I'd paid for, despite them promising in the advertisements that they'd deliver within a few hours. Days later I gave up, and OVH had my VPS up and running within a couple of hours.
