Why you get rid of legacy when it was the most enjoy able experience for new players to get a grip and feel of the game. things that would of made legacy better are Graphics, rad town, more guns, more options for building bases, different ways to raid example a cannon, more animals, BETTER FOOD OPTIONS THAN CHICKEN, etc And I am pretty sure everyone that played legacy would want it back :BRING BACK LEGACY: (User was banned for this post ("Crap thread, wrong, all caps thread title" - postal))
You can still use legacy to my knowledge.
You can still use legacy to my knowledge.
yep. opt into legacy in the betas tab in properties.
You obviously don't understand what the word 'legacy' means. Legacy means old, discontinued and no longer supported in most cases. Even though it is still available, it won't be for long. And as for your suggestions... Well, you should figure out how much of a chance they have of getting into the game from the "discontinued" part of my reply.
Legacy's code was awful. It wasn't just shitty code, it was over-engineered. It's a common thing for the next programmer to mock the previous guy's code - but the previous guy had serious problems, asperger type problems. So code that you can you can do with a single line using Linq would have 5 classes aimed at solving the problem. Some Unity classes were wrapper-classed for no apparent reason. To be fair to the guy, this code was based on two other prototypes, so maybe he was bending stuff to work - stuff that was already bent 5 times. The intention was always to start from scratch at some point, once we knew what the hell we were making.

If we carry on developing legacy, it will just end up becoming the new version again and you'll moan that we should roll back and give you legacy from 2 years back. Instead of trying to get us to do something we're obviously not going to do, why don't you just play the new version and let us know what's wrong with it - and then it might evolve into something you want to play. This is the development process.
Dude, go onto your steam library, right click Rust, click properties, at the bottom, then go to the betas tab, click the bar that says None- Opt out of all betas and select Legacy instead, simple.
Haven't really played Rust lately BUT I had about 800 hours in legacy and tbh I like the new version more, that's just the nostalgia and ... something else talking out of you, Legacy was fun but this is much better
