I'm pretty sure many in the Rust community enjoy crafting up or going on a raid then suddenly disconnecting due to a a basement dweller raging over being raided .
This solution might sound weird or may not work at all, I'm in no way familiar with programming or computers but ..
When logging into a server have the security question how most sites now that proves you are a human..
Ex. What does the dog say?
A. Meow B. Moo C. Ruff ruff D.ey Thot
And of course.. You click B..
Do you know how DDOS works ?
They don't actually log onto the server, they just attack the IP usually with a botnet (Though not always)
The only way to protect against DDOS is for the provider to increase the bandwidth available when it senses increased traffic, most big providers have a degree of protection but in reality it is not possible to protect a system completely from a DDOS attack and it's very expensive.
A DDOS is like 5 billion people suddenly showing up in front of your small business trying to get in all at once. It makes the server unusable by flooding it with traffic, making legitimate traffic struggle to actually get through.
There's no captcha support in TCP/IPv4, or else we'd be USING IT ALREADY.
