what makes a server not auto-update ? the community server i play on, sometimes will not update. last week it updated in 5minutes, so i think it have auto-update enabled. but this week, its still running the last version, 8 hours later. we get the "wrong procotol" error when trying to login. The server admin is a ghost and he never shows himself. so we're doomed to wait. One time, it took 5 day for the server to update because the admin never booted it, and the "autoupdate" command, which i guess is enabled, failed.
If the official servers also dont update, maybe the auto-update command is not consistant? maybe its bugged ?

The version which the servers check seems to be a manual increase. If it isn't manually increased, the server isn't aware there's an update.
Our server didn't auto-update whilst I was on holiday - it was essentially offline for 48 hours and has effectively killed the server. Likewise again this week, it wasn't released as an auto-update for servers. We were regularly the top server - now we're rarely pulling in 50 players. I'm combating this by making my own server update check which will check for updates every 1-2 minutes and issue a restart command when it detects one.
Still wrong protocol and 5 of 200 players online. Do something, please! It's official server or what?

ur not alone,same happens to facepunch Milan,incompetent administration,just avoid it like the plague,24 h and still no update,middle east level of profesionalism
