A nice looking base without getting raided so easy

Many people here has probebly gotten used to the Ladders
but personaly, im starting to get a bit annoyed by it ,
people arent able to make cool looking bases anymore ,
alot of pro rust players build there base as a big 10x10 block with wooden floors sticking out of the edges ,
and it just makes for a very ugly base building, and many people use the same building technique , with Full of dummy
walls and the hole base filled with doors ..
you cannot anymore be creative with buildings , so what im asking for is to please change something about it ,
its sad too see this on my server "shinra public"
if atleast i could disable ladders without plugins , that would be great
good looking base = a big target that says raid me.
So, do you still want your good looking base?
btw, you can still be creative. Each week i spend hours working on base design to repel raiders. Each week i make progress. how i measure my success is not if i get raided or not, but the numbers of attempt people make to raid me. because usually i would spend weeks, or months without getting really raided.
Last week on a 100 pop server, i managed to build a large house (~ 5x7 2 story), 15 second walk from radtown, and nobody even attempted to raid it. Not a single one. My house wasnt a big armored block, nor was it too imposing. I just used my knowledge of the game, put myself in the shoes of a raider, and built exactly the opposite of what is an attractive base to raid.

Before ladders, people werent very creative. they built house on top of rock, or elevator base, and that was it. if you removed your stairs, nobody could get your loot, period.
Now that ladders are in, you NEED to be creative, because the easy solution of building high doesnt work anymore.

Agreed. Don't make a massive, sprawling base unless you have the resources, players, and interior construction to defend it. I've watched people survive solo for weeks on high-pop servers by sticking to a small 1x3 or 2x2 base out in no man's land. Sometimes it's buried in a forest, sometimes it's far out of the way in the snow, sometimes it's up on a hill but down in a depression (so it's harder to see from below).
I've also noticed that if I build a multi-story house, people will almost always ladder up and attack from the top down. I've started placing my stuff on the ground floor and making the second floor a mess of armored walls and floors just to deliberately waste their time and C4. This still requires proper compartmentalization on the ground floor, but it's interesting that most players now assume that the best attack method is always top-down.
Don't get me wrong, I like seeing artistic bases. On most of my servers I play as a non-competing admin (I don't raid or kill players), and I build a ton of really creative bases to give away to people. But the fact remains that those large, complex bases are often easiest to raid.
