• Does Rust need a stylized UI?

Flat grey UI with no style or personality is GREAT for where Rust is at right now. It's simple and gets the job done. I'm gonna go ahead and make the bold claim that by the end of Q2/Q3 there will be demand for a better and more unique UI. How do you imagine it being like: (Keep in mind that UI style and flavor aren't necessarily the same as theme or setting. Rust's theme/setting is naturalist survival with scrap punk elements, but the UI doesn't have to be.) - Artistic/Scribbled/Rough: Gives the game that 'hand drawn' feeling. Colors: Dark brown, light brown, green; Elements are sloppy and appear cramped as tho the artist ran out of space to draw. See 'Don't Starve' for an idea. Colors like blue, silver, grey; Elements are organized neatly and methodically. See 'Ark: Survival Evolved.' Colors: brown, green, yellow, blue. Elements may look like leaves, trees, folliage, or other organic matter.
Still trying to find a good example of this. Help me. :)
- Minimalist: Avoids cluttering the menu/UI. Generally doesn't have much flavor or style, few buttons. Colors can be anything and usually fit the theme of the game. See games like HL2, Fallout 4, Rust, etc.

Thoughts?
Scrapmetal themed with a kind of Cartoonish look would be cool in my Oppinion :) but yeah completly agreed.
It doesn't need to be rustic rust style. I want to play the game instead of browsing a fancy menu. Gotta say it again: Keep it simple. :)
I like the current UI, its simple and clean.
I think the current UI is great and the main menu aswell. I don't feel like there's any need to work on the UI. It has changed a lot over time and right now it's more than just "sufficient".
I'm really not a fan of Arks UI, it feels really out of place and the colours are kinda offensive to me. I don't really like overly stylized UIs either, especially when they get to the point of trading away convenience for style. On the other hand I think the newest Rust UI is pretty great, the colour scheme is good and it feels responsive and easy to use.
Flat AI is good. It should be improved. From a designer standpoint, a UI's first aim is to communicate with the user then telling a story of a stylistic choice. Simple is better as long as it's executed correct.
You have to be honest Fallout got by far the best UI ever :)
