Nearly 1000 hours into this wonderful game. Here are a few thoughts of mine in art form. I had a lot of fun working on these. A huge thank you to all those working on Rust.
Wrong section, you want the rust subforum.
Yes sorry about that. re-posting in correct section when allowed. possible to remove?

Hey it's really awesome dude, good work! Love the giant robot.
Oh man, a day after the final community update of the year, too. *saves*
Love the art work, just to add something cool to your list, what about a Tattoo gun. Cant ever remove that shit. Only can be put on you if you agree but someone else has to do it. so you better trust them XD
great art. love those ideas. :)
Best thing I've seen in this forum in a long time. I thought the reasoning behind the giant robot was particularly well done.
Impressive pictures. Love the details and features. Great ideas.
Love it all. 'nuff said.
I love your idea for gear being displayed on the char. I've only skimmed so far but seems like you put in a lot of work and this is really cool! I especially agree with your idea to get rid of the menu system and make everything a wheel. Rust needs to synthesize a lot of its UI and stylize it more, and that idea is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. I think certain ideas like being able to bugger your weapon or assemble shells improperly is a bit too ambitious. In game it would probably boil down to "has X% chance to fail" which would just piss people off, and making it THAT in depth is most likely not going to happen given that the community wouldn't want it and Garry wouldn't want to code all that. I don't think he likes coding. :smug:
Fantastic art, and I love the idea of workstations. Workstations give real meaning to the shape and layout of a base. You need to determine what to put next to what, and where to put your storage, if you want an efficient workflow.
Just wow. Nice art and unique ideas.
You had me at "Giant Fucking Robot". Well done, on all of it.
Very nice artwork and Ideas, it's just sad that rust probably won't feature sandbox elements like some of those you posted. But I would really like those weapons and tools displayed on the back.
I'd love to see Fo4 style weapon modification in Rust
I'd love to see Fo4 style weapon modification in Rust
100% agree. I wouldn't even mind if Garry blatantly copied it and then adjusted it to his liking during or after implementation.
2nd the fallout 4 idea. It really is a revolutionary concept.
FP should hire you dude! Love the idea of interactive crafting!
Holy shit. A good rust post. Like, a really fucking good one. I would actually play the game of crafting worked like this. Not like fallout 4, but like snapping pieces together. Like a puzzle.
I agree with the crafting, as long as it doesn't become so tedious, but craft timers make the game boring as all hell! I only play modded servers because i don't appreciate the game making me wait an hour to craft starter equipment.
These are the sorts of posts that I wish Garry and staff would take the time out to respond to. Not necessarily to confirm/deny certain features, but to help get into their heads on what all they think is appropriate towards their ultimate vision for the game's future.
Your post on /r/playrust: https://redd.it/3wf6i1 People loves you :^) Sing up and collect credits)
All of this, please.
awesome, but "modular equipment" may cause unnecessary griefing because people can visually comfirm you aint got shit for weapons.
I'm really digging all of these ideas, the art is really well drawn as well. These are exactly the kind of things I would want to see in the game, especially the individual parts gathering, radios, and new monuments/ruins.
awesome, but "modular equipment" may cause unnecessary griefing because people can visually comfirm you aint got shit for weapons.
As opposed to being griefed for the hell of it? I don't think most killers are as discriminatory as you.
Thank you all so much for the love.
