i5 4570 Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X 8 GB RAM Kingston Hyper-X SSD Gigabyte G1.Sniper B5 No matter what settings i use i can't get game to run decently (lowest to highest settings differ for like 10 fps). My FPS goes from 25 to 65 but average is like 47. What i've tried: - Change Rust settings including launch parameters - Tried to run Rust in DX9 mode - Changed ATI drivers (newest and older one, official and downloaded using Windows Update) - Changed Realtek drivers (i found they can have impact on performance) - Reverted from Windows 10 to clean Windows 8.1 - Used Afterburner to monitor card and, when i run Rust, clock goes to 1000MHz and card usage is 90% so it's not underclock issue but anyway i tried to disable Powerplay and results are same. I am running CS:GO high@1920x1200 - 250+ FPS, Star Wars:Battlefront ultra@1920x1200 - about 70 FPS so i don't think it's card issue. I have friends with much weaker configs running Rust at 70+ fps. Is there anything more i can try or i am stuck with this because of Rust poor optimization? :) Thanks!
Do these friends with weaker builds happen to be running nvidia cards? from what I've read rust doesn't seem to like amd cards at all.
One friend has nVidia card, other one is on ATI. Too bad, i really like game :/
Ati is still amd, shouldn't be any different. Another thought, have you checked your ram usage while playing rust? If it's close to maxing you might need a ram upgrade or playing on a lower resolution might help.
i know ati is amd, just wanted to point out my friends are having mixed environment... RAM usage is about 80%, CPU usage is about 75%, GPU usage is more than 90% when i run game...
Tbh pal, 47 fps ain't bad on this game!! I'd definitely consider your ram usage
It's average FPS, when i come to area with more objects or something similar it drops even to 25. it's just not playable when it have to be playable :D i'll pay attention to RAM usage again when i get home...
