I want shadows off. Don't know why, but shadows just don't seem to get rendered properly for me and with everything on max, they stand out jaggy and nasty sometimes. I have turned them down to a distance of 10 but I'm not sure of the console command to fully do it.
I found some commands on a ddg search but they are from a while back. One I tried, which supposedly turned them off spat out 10 as a result. Is it fixed at 10 as minimum? I know there is some debate as to wether players with it off get an advantage, so maybe that is a minimum for that reason. I wouldn't turn grass off like some do, as I like the feel when someone creeps up on you. But, I don't think I have felt hiding in shadows really works.
Do you try use linux? I use it and dont have problem with shadow rendering.
