Rust Twitter Ban Tweet: https://twitter.com/rusthackreport/status/731819187912462340
Looking to appeal or for some clarification into this ban. I've got almost 2,000 hours in Rust, never cheated, in fact I'm routinely mocked for being a shitty player. Even more infuriating is the ban was from Sunday and my internet has been out since Saturday. Just looking to see if we can clear this up. Thanks.
More Info: The only thing that would come to mind is Ive occasionally left Cheat Engine running from playing Fallout 4 while I had Rust open? Is CE considered a hack?
You'll have to wait for an EAC staff member to swing by to look into your case.
Also I should add that trying to get unbanned after you cheated, or trying to pump EAC for information why you got banned or how you got caught, isnt going to work. False positive bans are always reversed if found to be so, hard luck if not.
Also EAC bans are all issued in waves, any activity flagging the account for cheating might've taken place weeks ago and it (the actual ban) would be issued at a later date. And forgive me for being skeptical, but this isnt the first time somebody tried cheating or scripting after playing rust for a long time, either. You never know when people will start up with these things.
edit: yes, if EAC detects cheat engine running afaik that leads to getting banned.

I feared as much. A friend of mine went through this same ordeal about a year ago. EAC detected Cheat Engine and banned him and it took him a while to get it reversed. Hopefully the same can happen here.
by memory EAC detects cheat engine and won't let you boot up rust until you have turned it off, so i don't think you will have gotten banned for it; they have no issue with single player uses for it, it simply isn't welcome in rust.
also remember that bans come in waves, up to 3 months after detection. so your internet being out is beside the point.
but usual advice applies; wait for EAC. if it's a positive you need a new account, copy of rust and should probably reinstall your os to be safe. if it's false, EAC will overturn it quickly, and close the loophole that caused the false ban.
The ban is from a definite cheat detection and it is permanent. For more information please read this: http://faq.easyanticheat.net/content/18/18/en/i_ve-been-banned.html
