Play Rust using Moonlight, Gamestream or Steam Link

I am trying to use Moonlight or Game Stream on my Nvidia Shield Android TV to stream Rust from my PC in the next room.
When I run Steam using Moonlight and then select Rust, the launcher appears where you select resolution and graphics quality, but as soon as I do my mouse stops responding and I cannot select the 'Play!' button with the mouse to run the game, but if I disabel windowed mode for Steam Big Picture I am able to start the game using the tab and enter key. Unfortunately, in game the cursor is still completely unresponsive so I cannot get beyond the main menu.
The game does run through Gamestream, but the mouse stops responding in the main game menu, after using the launcher where the mouse does at least work apart from the mouse wheel which moves the update news up and down in the main menu in Moonlight and Gamestream.
I have learned this may be due to an EAC update which block virtual inputs, which apparently some people were using some how to cheat.
Is there anyway to Stream Rust to another room where it works properly, using Moonlight, Gamestream, or Steam Link? I do not have a Steam Link, but buying one to play Rust in our living room would be much cheaper than building a new PC just for that.
Devs, if there is no way to stream Rust to another room, can you please, please work with EAC to find a solution, perhaps they could somehow whitelist mice and keyboard connected via Gamestream, Moonlight, or Steam Link etc.? Perhaps you could approach Nvidia about officially supporting Rust with Gamestream?
