My garrys mod gets stuck at the blue loading screen 1 out of 10times I try to launch it, I then have to end hl2.exe with the help of my task managerr. The rest of the time it isnt even doing that and I have to manually end hl2.exe too :( Starting it with those launch options(-sw -dxlevel 80) kinda helped, it got past the loading screen but after alt-tabbing i couldnt open it back up. Now I cant even start it using "-sw -dxlevel 80" anymore. I just updated my drivers and my PC, Im using win7. How to fix this?
Btw: I tried reinstalling, didnt work.
Can you post your PC stats? You shouldn't be using -dxlevel 80 if you have a higher version of DirectX.

Sometimes I make it through the loading screen, but then it starts to not respond and i have to end hl2.exe again. Very rarely(1/100) do I actually manage to join a server and have it not crash while playing.
Do you possibly have a virus? It could possibly be running a process, that is slowing the crap out of your computer. Check your task manager (Cntrl, Shift, Esc) And see if there is any random process's running...

just out of curiosity, you are making sure that its the nvidia graphics that is doing the work, not the intel? try going to your graphics settings, see if there is some setting that lets the use of intel and nvidia graphics toggle, and set it to use only nvidia.
uh, my Gmod graphics settings? I cant access those. Didnt find any PC graphics settings but on other games like BF2-4 im getting 100+fps.
im talking about your driver settings, like check the nvidia video and intel graphics control panel, make sure that they are set to use only the nvidia graphics card. i seen some cases where the intel would take priority over the dedicated card, which would cause issues
It was set to auto-select, i changed it to geforce gtx 770, but that didnt help :(
