Garrys mod on steam using other GCF's

Hi All,

Here's the deal:

Can I buy garrys mod, so I can play online without buying any source games if i have the gcf's?
If not, can I buy garrys mod and ONE source game, then use content from other gcf's?
Any help appreciated.

No. Garry's Mod will only mount GCFs that you own (according to Steam).

TF2 is free now, and it's a source game. Just buy Garry's Mod and install TF2. Don't expect all of the maps to work perfectly though.

Using SRCDS will download the GCFs, but it's not illegal, lol.
