So whenever I try playing Gmod, it loads a few online servers and all of a sudden it stops. I click refresh and all it shows is 0 player and 0 servers for some of the game modes. This happens almost everytime. I trouble shoot my connection on windows and it shows that my dns server isnt responding . Any help ?
Your internet is probably down or your modem is going bad/wire is bad, either contact your ISP or try using another modem/router.
Unless you're getting internet just fine make sure you try a speedtest to make sure your connection is good enough to play on online servers.

I can play other games online just fine, but whenever I start gmod, this happens
Since it's not showing any servers, go to the desktop, right click on the Steam quick tray icon and select servers, see if any servers appear, if they do please try to join one.

It loads a few servers and stops, and if I click refresh they all disappear. If I am lucky and click a server while its still loading, I'll be able to join.
Your internet connection is not strong enough or your modem is crap.
Try lowering Max Pings value in Steam Settings, it will make servers load slower, but it will not flood your connection as much.

This didnt happen to me before, did not switch internet provider or anything
How long since you replaced your router? I doubt this is the problem, but who knows. (I can't use Gmod server browsing through the game itself. Then again I haven't replaced my router in 5 years)

What have you changed to your PC setup since is was working? New PC? New location? Wi-Fi? Some software? Someone torrenting on your network?
I've had the same issue for about a year, I'm not too sure what it is either.
