How to activate dev console ingame properly? Help please

So until now I used the console gain from doing the properties options on gmod on steam -> set launch options -> "-console"
But that makes some problems with a player model skin i dl'ed, so i used the other way where i have to press ~ to open it up. But when i do, it doesnt appear?
Is it because I have another kind of keyboard?
(logitech, and im from denmark) might be german styled keyboard or something?
to make the ~ sign on this keyboard i have to press ctrl + alt + ~
Instead of "-console", try : +bind THE_KEY_YOU_WANT "toggleconsole"
For example : +bind n "toggleconsole"
So you can set a key to open it ingame..
