Steam cant find any servers and getting error when connecting ip??

I bought Gmod yesterday with my friends and now its not working? When we try search servers its says ¨Steam beta must be running..¨. This same thing happens on CSS. But when try connecting ip address it says ¨You are in insecure mode, pls restart game and try again.¨On CSS we can join with ip addres but not in GMOD :/ pls help?

What is your Steam profile? Link it and put "Hello Confuzzed Otto!" in your description, just so we know it is not a pirated version.

That happened to me in TF2 yesterday. And I most certainly own the game.

I have the exact same problem but only in counter strike, oddly enough
