Dog you can change the effects (i think) in the Q menu

That isn't your specs, thats the details of the hard drive. (This is for Win7) Go to Start > Control Panel > System. Tell me the processor and amount of RAM listed in GB Then go into Device Manager, and look at display adaptors, and tell me what's in that.

Well, you already mentioned that there is no such menu in Q to disable the smoke. Unless you want to tamper with every lua file to just remove the smoke, you're fucked. I "need" this so I can see if your computer is horribly unsuited to running the smoke.
Windows Key + R -> Type in DXDiag.exe Click Save All Information at the bottom left. Copy paste the contents of the DxDiag.txt file that is on your desktop. We only need System Information and Display Devices. Do NOT paste anything else.
We need your specs to see if this computer of yours is powerful enough to run the game. I wouldn't knock a helper if I were you. Post your specs, we have a good process to figure out what's wrong.
System Information
What part of "Only System Information and Display Devices" didn't you understand? I also call bullshit on your specs. My Old PC with an Nvidia GT220 and a Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 is easily outmatched by those specs, yet could handle about 5 times as what you have up on there on your little screenshot with its hands behind its back. Aside from that I7 being at a humiliating 2.0 Ghz, you are almost up to par with my CURRENT computer, which is running any game I throw at it on ultra. If you're getting that bad you have clearly fucked something up on your hardware, or you have a MASSIVE overheating problem.
cl_csr_extra_muzzle_flash 0
Nice.
or you have a MASSIVE overheating problem.
Well, I must agree about the heat problem, I might buy something for it soon.
Well, I must agree about the heat problem, I might buy something for it soon.
You better. That's bad for you computer. Not only can you damage the chips, but you could do like my dipshit friend did by getting it so hot the solder melted off of the PCB and broke his computer. He was lucky I had a heat gun to re-seat the chips. Later that day I found out he had disabled the Thermal Auto-shutdown in the BIOS.
