Hello everyone, I am kind of new to Garry's Mod and I was hoping that you guys maybe could answer a question for me. I recently go a Macbook, that has Mac OS X Lion. I have install Garry's Mod, Portal 2, Half Life 2, and TF2. All of them work well on the computer. I have been wanting to start playing Garry's Mod, but I am not sure if it will work. I have been wanting download some mods, character skins, object, etc. However, I have heard that mods do not work for Mac. I was just wondering if that includes all kinds of mods? I know that gamplay mods like Synergy will not work on Macs, but what if I just want to reskin a character? Or, what if I want to add character models or addons in Garry's Mod. If so, how am I able to tell they will work? Or do all addons work? If not, is there a way to convert them? That is all. I appreciate the help. Thank. Model's are sure to work. It just really depends on what do you download, I heard the admin mod Evolve doesn't work on Mac.
I can't see why addons wouldn't work on a Mac unless Garry hasn't finished all the lua implementation for it
If it's like Linux, the it just depends on the capitalization and stuff. Models/folders/... which have uppercase characters in them can cause issues. If in the code the author didn't include files in the correct case, this can be an issue to. Appart from those issues (which you should be able to fix yourself), every addon should work...
Some LUA or concommand stuff doesn't seem to work as well. Had that problem on our server. It's weird.
