hl2.exe crashes every time I try running GMod.
I've tried:
1. updating steam
2. updating gmod
3. verifying gmod and hl files
4. using beta versions of gmod
5. deleting gmod local files and removing related gmod directories
6. rebooting computer after uninstall and re-install
7. opting out of beta after all of the above and trying again
I may have tried other steps but my mind is drawing a blank. Thanks in advance.

Have you made sure your pc meets the minimum requirements for Garry's Mod?

I've been running gmod for about 3 years. My PC specs have remained the same (well over the above recommended)
Have you tried looking on youtube for help? Most likely there is a fix for your problem there.

Everything youtube suggests has already been attempted. Unless theres some hnidden gem but I watched 5 of the top vids, and they did the same thing I did. Delete, verify, reinstall basically.
