I haven't played Garry's Mod for about a month since I lost interest after people started uploading ridiculous shit on both the Toybox and Gmod.org.
But I decided to come back and play and install a couple addons I actually found pretty cool. I install and notice my models folder wasn't there. I check my addons folder and what do you know? It's completely wiped out. So I ask of you guys, has this ever happened? If so what causes it? And is there anyway to get back my addons? I really don't want to do a 5 hour treasure hunt on the website to get back most of my addons.
maybe you should go for those file recovering programs?
i have never had any success using them but you should try.
Steam games > Garry's Mod > Right click > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache. If you're lucky, it'll recreate the addons folder (though you may have to boot up and close down GMod before it appears). You could potentially just try and make a folder in garrysmod > garrysmod called addons and see if that worked which it probably would.
They just disappeared?!

Have you tried looking in the Recycle Bin? (:v:)
