[PointShop] CATEGORY.AllowedUserGroups restricting view?

using _Undefined's PS and I'd like to make my life easier by restricting the category to certain groups rather than having to set every item to a certain group.

However, setting CATEGORY.AllowedUserGroups to certain groups removes the Category from the PS from those who aren't listed in that group.

Overall I have, for example, 10 donator items. Every time someone buys a custom tag, I need to add that tag to each donator item.

For convenience, I'd like to simply add the tag once to the CATEGORY while still allowing everyone else to see what's available even if they can't buy.

Possible?

If not, I'll be fine with adding the restriction in the Category. I'll simply make an announcement about it to my community.
