• Random closing and Lua Panic Out of Memory Errors

We've been running a server since about 2012, and around the time this year started, we've been getting tons of random client crashes and frame rate related issues. This is usually what happens: You join the server, and your framerate progressively gets worse and worse. It can start at 120 fps, and end up at about a solid 8 fps. If you leave and rejoin, the problem resolves itself, but it will drain again over time. What seems to be causing it on our server is either the more the guns are used, or the more npc's that get killed causes it. If a client crashes (This happens to me as well), Garry's Mod will just close out to desktop without any errors. Sometimes when this happens, a client cannot rejoin because Garry's Mod will just keep closing out on sending client info until the map changes. Sometimes I crash with a LUA PANIC! OUT OF MEMORY! error. Some notable addons: Customizable Weaponry, Wiremod, PAC3 (mainly clientside addon, crashes still happen if this is disabled on a client), SiN NPC's. Is something causing a memory leak? Is it Garry's Mod itself, or just our server? Me and a couple members went onto some other servers and the same thing persisted. The longer you play, the worse your frame rate gets. This has been stifling the player population quite a bit recently, since some new players can't even join because Garry's Mod just keeps closing out on them. I'm just very curious what's causing this. We're having hunches it's the weapons, and they are currently being changed to a different base. My setup: i7-4770 Stock 3.4GHz GTX 770 2GB 8GB of DDR3-1600.
Took me a while to find this. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Showbudget The showbudget command tells you what's slowing down your game, but considering your Lua panic error, I think one of your addons is memory leaking. You should probably try your server without addons for a bit to see if it still crashes, if it doesn't crash, try choose your most important addons and leave out ones that aren't used much
Well we switched maps and I watched the graph for awhile. It stayed at about the same place the entire time, but my average framerate still went from above 60 to about the 18-25 average I'm getting now.
Your best bet would be disabling as many addons as you can, or if you just want to test if it is the addons you could disable them all temporarily
