I manually downloaded rp_evocity_v4b1 and it shows up in the gmod map folder. When i try to join the server which needs the map it says im missing it. I then go and try to start a single player game with the map and it doesn't show up. How can i fix this? (rp_evocity_v4b1 isnt the only map that does this.

You're looking in steamapps/common/garrysmod/garrysmod/maps and not steamapps/(username)/garrysmod/garrysmod/maps, right?

Try putting it in your downloads folder.
