Console crashes my gmod as soon as I hit it in multiplayer.
It happened to me before. Open up gmod and then go to option and advanced settings enable developer console change the keybind to f10.. Dont really know if you gotta change the keybind
Try verifying your GMod. This issue was fixed yesterday iirc.

I reinstalled gmod, fixed it when opening the game for the first time, but after quitting this comes back. Same issue as you dude, I open console and I crash. I verfied/reinstalled fresh, this shit is still happening.

F10 and Tilde both crash my GMOD. openconsole command seems to be breaking my game.
I've two friends also getting this bug. One has tried a fresh install as well to no avail.
Any further fix ideas?
Post the .mdmp files if you want those crashes to be looked into. Post only the .mdmps that are related to this specific crash. How do you know which one is? Delete all of them and cause the crash.
The files are in common/GarrysMod folder.
i have the exact same issue, ive reinstalled verified and it still crashes i can open it in main menu but not if i join server.

Still happens to me. This is not fixed and still an issue. Have reinstalled/verified.
Type "mat_dxlevel 95" into console. If you can't open it at all, add "-dxlevel 95" to your launch parameters.

That fixes it however it kinda sucks that you have to do that, and if you set that in steam it resets your video settings every time you relaunch your game. I hate to necro but really why is this still an issue?
