joining server problembs - Help

Disconnect: Tree timed out. ive tried sooo many things to join the server but i time out every time and i delete all my addons, reinstalled gmod, reset router etc and i still cannot connect beacuse it says "Tree Timed Out"

Make sure as well as deleting your addons you have unsubscribed from workshop addons. Make sure no background programs are running and maybe do a virus scan. Also Garry's Mod takes longer to connect to a server the first server you connect to after starting Garry's Mod. So after it times out, have you tried connecting again without restarting Garry's Mod? It might work the second time providing you don't close Garry's Mod

The problem is, you are loading waay too slow. Unmount games and remove LEGACY addons, it might help. [editline]27th March 2014[/editline] Can you join any other server?

It seems like a lot of people are having trouble joining my server. Most of the people I have talked to who have this problem have said that this doesn't happen anywhere else. Could it be something wrong on my end?

Increase sv_timeout on your server. Should fix the "timed out" kick reasons. @Sothfo How does it take to join other servers compared to the one that times you out?

Your speed is acceptable. If it's the only server you can't join, it sounds like a serverside issue.

ive been talking to the owner and he has no clue shoould i tell him to increase sv_timeout or what???

I set sv_timeout to 600 seconds which is bad for those who actually time out. If you still can't connect then I don't know what to say.

25*60 is a bit higher than 600. The problem is that his PC is too slow, it can't load the game fast enough. Get more RAM or something. Or the server should remove some workshop addons or something. This is not a server issue really.
