• GMod lag on GTX 765m

Alright, I have an intel i7 4700 2.4-3.4 ghz (intel turbo boost), a GTX 765m 2 GB, and 16 GB DDR3 ram. TF2 (a source game) gets around 80-100 fps. GMod get 40-70 fps. Is gmod just terribly optimized for my card, or does my card suck? My computer does not overheat. On integrated graphics I get 15 fps on gmod, so switching to integrated wont fix it. My drivers are 100% up to date. Any help?
It's probably a mix of both, and depends on what map you're on. I have me a quad core i7 @3.4ghz and a GTX 690 and I lag on shitty Minecraft gmod maps. But on good maps like gm_construct and gm_bigcity I average 250fps. It also depends on how much stuff is going on in your game.
It's probably because of some badly coded addon you got installed.
because garry needs to fix multicore rendering.
because garry needs to fix multicore rendering.
Took the words out of my mouth. He doesnt need to "fix" anything though. As stated by him, it causes issues with some visual effect things like superDOF and others. As well as messing up with some lua sometimes. So it "sometimes" rarely causes a crash. So instead of adding some checks to keep it from ever happening, he took the easy, probably smarter way out, and just disabled it.
