I made a thread like this before a while back then I realized I had my map on "Read Only" yet now that I further tested it, that doesnt seem to be the issue.
Maybe this is a bug or it is just me, no idea.
When I connect to a server it downloads the files nicely, but when I try to see the files (Models, materials, sound etc.) there is just nothing there in the folders? The only thing whats there is for example models/humans/group41 in there I expect files like female_01.mdl and so on, its just plain empty.
When I empty my models and materials folder, hell even deleting them and starting GMod again it doesnt re-make the folders and I dont need to re-download everything, I can still see models and materials fine in the server while missing the models folder and material folder in my Garrysmod/garrysmod.
My main folder is still read-only, yet this seems to apply for my whole computer for a reason. But I can see files in all other folders and for other games and such, just not for Garrysmod.
Any ideas?
Edit: Tested this also on another PC, same issue.
Bump, help please? I need this issue fixed.
I would also like to know where they go, Along with certain cache from servers. There might be a folder in appdata, I will go take a look for you.
EDIT - No luck i'm afraid.
EDIT EDIT- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\USERNAME\garrysmod\garrysmod\downloads\
Just found it. Its got all the downloaded stuff from my server in there, like sounds, maps, models, materials and another "Downloads" folder which is probably LUA or something.
