How do I update my gmod server I have tried everything possible.
Post the commands you're using with SteamCMD.
Is it a game server hosted with a GSP or is this your local SteamCMD server?

Then simply run the same script you used when you installed the server.

Do 'app_update 4020 validate' without the quotes. That works for me. But of course you still need to point it in the direction of your server like when you installed it. 'force_install_dir' etc.
Also, try reinstalling the server to a different location. SteamCMD sometimes has issues overriding files.
