Garry's mod crashing on startup.

So I've recently tried to play garry's mod, and it starts to start up, but then it gives me this:

[B]Engine Error[/B]

Steam Error: No SteamUser.

- Make sure that Steam is up to date.
- Try restarting your PC.
- Try Garry's Mod -> Delete Local Content

Please let me know if you solve this bug!

And then Gmod crashes. Anyone else getting this, and is there a way to fix it?

Restart steam. You have to do it every time the error pops up. Annoying as fuck, but it works.

the thing is, i re-installed it so im in fullscreen, i cant see when the error pops up, yet it still doesnt load after 45 min
I think i know when it's messing up, maybe when i see the loading symbol on my mouse (spinning rainbow ball of death) it's creating the error :) reply if you get the loading ball too when the error message comes up.
P.S: I un-installed Steam and all of my games then re-downloaded them and the issue still persists, so i dont know if your method will work for me wug, thanks though!

Also, my friend said he did the same thing, the only thing thats different from you (and my friend) from me, Cjellyfish, and every other mac user, you guys are pc's...

Also happening, re-installed gmod, restarted steam, all the suggest things. Still can't get it working.

yeah i think its mac related too, am just trying to see if reinstalling steam will work atm, because I was checking for updates, and it seemed to have a problem updating steam, so that may be the issue, especially seeing as the error is a steam error, will let you all know if it works : )

So i reinstalled steam, and no changes there. : ( I hope this is sorted soon! I give up just not gonna play gmod until its sorted :/

Ye im on a Mac too, i had it before an restarted my mac an it started fine the next time but now it seem permeant not too sure what to do
