Hello, For some reason my gmod lag. On small maps my fps is good (150+) but on larger maps its realy bad (13+).
I7 920 @2.67Ghz
Gtx 660 ti oc pe twin frozr 2gb msi
SSD
Any idea what could cause that problem ?
1. You have an older i7 920.
2. Big maps don't render in a good way, You know how games like BF3 only render what your looking at and what's near you? Gmod doesn't do that so it render's the WHOLE map.

2. isnt true, all the time at least. in hammer editor, you can set up special entities which limit rendering (area portals for example). however, most mappers are lazy and never actually spend the time on optimizing the map.
also, if you have very bad lag, try disabling some addons, any overlay or special effects, lower your resolution, lower your graphic settings, or lower the version of directx you use. also you can try to update your graphics driver. make sure that your graphics card is doing the rendering, not the intel graphics chipset.

I am using directx 9 since every other is realy glitchy for some reason...
There is also the problem that, apparently, Garry refuses to fix. That being on maps with like doors and moveable objects, at least for me, get duplicated many MANY times... sometimes up to 20+ times and removing them does no good they all just respawn and reduplicate. This crashes my frame rates to garbage making saves useless.

thats is because directx 9 is the latest source can really support and directx 8 is very old (it was used in the times of windows 95)
also, if you are referring big maps as in "evo city" thats normal, no one gets above 50 fps normally on that map

Map like rooftops (ttt), i used to have 60+ but after i reinstalled windows i get 20-50
