GMod crashes hl2 and uses a ton of memory.

I am playing on a DarkRP server and every play session, without fail, my game crashes. The audio starts skipping and my frames drop until the game is completely frozen. When I check the task manager, it shows hl2 using over 3gb of RAM. I have no idea why this is happening and I would really like some help solving this problem.

If anyone wants to check out what might be causing the crashes.

happens to me too but i found the cause. Since my computer died, I am using another one so I have to download all my workshop addons onto this one which takes up a lot of memory

upgrade your ram for your addons and for the crashes try a fresh install of gmod
