How do I run addons on my dedicated server from gma files?

Hi, sorry for the noob question but my server support is pretty useless.

I've downloaded addons from steam workshop on my dedicated server but I cannot get the addons to work from .gma files. I have only managed to get the addons to work by extracting them on my local machine using gmad.exe and then uploading each file to the relevant folder via FTP. My upload speed is terrible so I'm wondering if there is any way I can run addons from the .gma files in the addons folder or if there is a better way to do this?

Thanks for the reply but I solved the problem by creating a collection and using the collection ID with '+host_workshop_collection' instead of the addon ID. My own stupid fault for not reading the tutorial correctly!
