Solved it, on Debian Sid 64-bit (with multiarch and i386), I can't install libgconf, lib32-libs, lib32-gconf2, ia32-libs, or any other recommended packages; however, installing the 32bit version of libgconf2-4 via multiarch fixed it (# apt-get install libgconf2-4:i386).
