So when I try to play garry's mod in Singleplayer and Multiplayer mode I just get a black and purple checkers overlay over the screen itself. Now I have no addons installed and I have re-installed garry's mod and verified the game chache and tried most other things. This problem happend when I tried to open my spawn menu (which didn't work) and I pressed the B or N key on my keyboard and everything just broke. If anyone knows how to fix this I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.
Well, reinstalling Garry's Mod might fix it.
Delete your "/cfg" and "/download" folder. It's most likely a script you downloaded from a server, that shows a texture which you miss on top of the screen (could be a vignette or something).
If that doesn't work, delete the entire "Garrys Mod" folder in "/steamapps/common"

Okay will try this
Try [b]pp_texturize ""[/b] and [b]pp_mat_overlay ""[/b] in console when you are in a server.
