So I myself love building constructions, and recently I mounted CS:GO, and L4D2, L4D because it allows me to see the Global Offensive props. Well I searched "Gate" and after a few moments, my Gmod crashed without any error- straight from the map. The same thing happens when I search "Door", but I've searched things such as "Fence" and nothing happened besides search results coming up.
Can someone help at all? I've never had this problem before and I'd rather not need to just "Deal with it" or reinstall.
Note: When I dismounted L4D2 I didn't crash, BUT L4D allows me to see Global Offensive props, otherwise some are invisible. But when I re-engaged L4D and I search Gate or Door I crash, even if only aprox 10 props appear. When I search things such as Combine which contains a lot of props, I'm just fine.
EDIT: I cleared it out etc all my files and tried and it crashed again when it came to an icon to generate- I'm not sure why but this is annoying.
I also only had L4D2 had mounted and not Global Offensive and it still happened- and always with the same icons to generate, and I can't see the icon and so I don't know what props they are.
Verify integrity of game cache of L4D2 and it's also possible that the rendering of the L4D2 object is causing the game to crash, which means you should try updating graphics drivers or starting the game with -dxlevel 80
I verified L4D2's cache and that didn't work, but the -dxlevel 80 sure did! Thanks a lot man. The two problems I had were actually effects, gate_expl 2 and 3.
