Singleplayer loading crash (and other ways my gmod is effed up)

Recently, i've been having problems with starting singleplayer. I can join multiplayer servers just fine, but on loading singleplayer game I get a CTD with no error message (or even windows pulling a Captain Obvious and reporting that gmod has stopped working and its "looking" for solutions) on the last step in the loading process. Also, for a very long time after the gmod13 update, several seconds into the main menu i get a 60-90 second freeze, which I therorize is gmod loading my addons. The problem has persisted even as i unsubscribed to a large amount of unused addons. the singleplayer crash has only been here since the second-to-latest update, and i've tried reinstalling gmod (via the steam "delete local content" function), but no dice. I want to avoid a total clean if possible, due to my top-of-the-line-in-a-third-world-country internet being kind of relatively slow.

I'm guessing it's one of the addons you're using doesn't like the latest gmod update, you should try unsubscribing from them all (also make sure there's nothing in your addons folder) and see if it still occurs
